The UCM Implementation Boot Camp is a 4-days hands-on workshop, designed for Oracle Partners who are new to UCM, and will provide implementation instruction on the UCM technology offered by Oracle.
This boot camp will:
- Provide hands-on experience in implementing Oracle’s truly unified, open and standard base UCM technology
- Provide the strategic direction about Oracle’s Fusion Middleware/Enterprise 2.0 and its role in composite application development
- Expose broad set of Oracle’s UCM technologies.
The Oracle UCM Implementation Boot Camp is designed for architects, technical consultants, team/project leaders and functional consultants of our system integrator partners who want to ramp-up on UCM technology.
The following topics will be covered during the internal training days:
Content Server
- Deploying in WLS
- EM and WLST
- HA/Clustering, Performance and Scalability
Desktop Integration
- Office Integration
- Windows Explorer Integration
Web Content Management
- OpenWCM (JDev-based sites, adding WCM to apps, deploying apps)
- Deployment Server
Day 1: High Level Overview of UCM 11g

Day 2: UCM 11g

Day 3: UCM 11g

· Upgrading UCM 10g to 11g
· Sizing
· Clustering
Day 4: Site Studio 11g
Discussion Topics:
· Site Studio for External Applications
· JDeveloper
Hardware
RAM: 4.0 GB minimum
HDD: 10 GB free HDD space
Laptop must have Wireless capability
Participants should bring an external mouse. Using a "normal" mouse will be much easier than using the built-in mouse on your laptop
Software (Students to download prior to class)
The recommended operating system for the laptop is Windows XP (Windows 2003 is possible but Important: Windows Vista is NOT supported).

If participants wish to use a VMWARE image for the workshop, they can be provided with an OEL Linux ready for Lab 1. Please note Site Studio Designer (for Lab 3) will only run on Windows (so for VMWARE users, SS will need to be installed natively on their Windows laptops or on a Windows VM. Participants should download and install VMWare Player or VMWare Server from http://www.vmware.com
If participants wish to use their own laptops and/or vmwares for the workshop they will need to install a supported database and supported web server. For instance
