This course provides in-depth coverage of both technical features of the Exadata Database Machine and its software and discussions of key topics with relation to the Exadata Database Machine.
Technical consultants will become familiar with the main features of the Exadata Database Machine, and learn how these features operate. In addition, attendees will participate in hands-on exercises to help them understand how to configure storage on an Exadata Database Machine and to demonstrate the tangible benefits provided by the platform.
With the information gained in this course, technical consultants will be fully equipped to both explain the benefits provided by the Exadata Database Machine as well as having the knowledge and skills to apply these benefits to customer requirements.

• Deep dive into Exadata Database Machine software features, including Smart Scan and SQL offloading, compression of various types, storage indexes, Database Resource Manager, I/O Resource Manager and Exadata Smart Flash Cache
• Database best practices topics in relation to the Exadata Database Machine, including availability, backup and recovery, data loading, consolidation, migration and sizing.
• Exadata utilities, including hands-on labs using these utilities to configure an Exadata Database Machine and demonstrate how features provide benefits.
• Special topics, including an understanding of how data exchanges affect the overall throughput of an Exadata Database Machine and what it would take to build a system that could deliver the same throughput of the Exadata Database Machine.
